jackamus
I suddenly have 'marching ants' going round the edge of my document. Where did they come from and how do I stop them? What is their purpose? Staff MEB Posted March 27, 2018 Staff Share Posted March 27, 2018 Hi jackamus, They represent a pixel selection. They show you what's currently selected. You may have pressed ⌘ (cmd) and clicked on the thumbnail of a layer accidentally which creates a pixel selection from that object. You can get rid of them going to menu Select ▸ Deselect or pressing ⌘ (cmd) +D. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

If you leave a jammy fingerprint on your screen they'll swarm around for hours. I think the lesson here is to always have clean hands before making selections. jackamus
I spent 5 minutes pondering a witty reply to this but I gave up and carried on scratching! Are you adamant about that? Your reference to “music they can’t resist [dancing to]” reminds me of Ogden Nash’s words in his poem about ants: Would you be calm and placid If you were full of formic acid?
