If you are referring to gradient meshes, no - currently Affinity Designer doesn't have them. This is on Affinity Designer's roadmap to be implemented in a future version during the 1.x cycle (before v2). Illustrator creates the intermediate shapes while dragging the color from blue to yellow. It's a very old tool in Illustrator, and very useful. See attached file. There's a Replicate/Blend Tool on the roadmap as well but i don't know for sure if it will be similar to Illustrator one at this point.
