Purchase & Download Questions

Recommended Posts

I just purchased AP via the Microsoft Store, advertised on the AP website.

  1. It opens OK but can't find it on my computer.  Where will it normally be installedy?
  2. Is there a licence Key, if so where it not why?
  3. Can I install my copy on more than one of my computer, if so how if not why not?

Thanks

Hi groberts,

Welcome to the forum

Affinity Photo should have install automatically after it was purchased and the shortcut will be added to the start menu, if it is not installed you can install it from the My Library section of the Microsoft Store

There is no licence key as the purchase is linked directly to your Microsoft store account

You can install Affinity Photo on another computer running Windows 10 by logging into the Microsoft store with the same login details that you used to purchase Affinity Photo and start the install from the My Library section

OK thanks that's good to know.

  1. It did install and as far as I can see is OK but would like to know where it is on my computer hard drive - any ideas?
  2. So if I want to reinstall the programme in say a couple of years on a new computer this is still valid?
  3. In the meantime, how do I know about + install updates?
  4. I have two other laptops (one is my wife's) both running Windows 7, does this mean I can not install it on them + if not what can I do?

BTW looks like a great piece of software

Hi.  Welcome to the forum.

By default, apps purchased and downloaded from the Microsoft Store are installed in C:\Program Files\Windows Apps.  Unless you have changed the default Windows security settings the contents of this folder are hidden; hence, you cannot "find" where AP is installed.

As I understand it, any reinstall which is necessary can be done by simply selecting that option in your Microsoft Store account.

Again, I understand that any update will be automatically installed once it is released by Serif to the store

OTOH, I know that you cannot install MS Store apps to any version of Windows other than 10.  So, for your laptops running Win 7 I'm afraid your only option is to purchase the app direct from the Serif store and yes, that does mean you will have to buy it!
