Media Brower and Aperture catalogue

Recommended Posts

I appreciate the possibility to open Aperture catalogue photos directly from the Media Browser window. But there's a big caveat : presently, only preview JPEG files are shown and opened in Photo whereas the referenced files (RAW in my case) stay invisible. Bug or feature ?

Best regards

Volker

"After I'd found and activated the browser's RAW settings, I had to conclude the RAW data would show only as JPEG, RAW lacking at all. Is that a bug or a feature?"

And now my question:  can Affinity Photo indeed handle full sized raw pictures and metadata/ EXIF files? Or only JPEGS?

Thanx and good luck, Affinity!

There is a lot about media browser and Aperture in this thread, but in direct answer to the discussions here, RAW (NEF) files open correctly for me if they are in a sub-folder in Apple's Pictures folder, but I have the same problem that you describe when accessing the files in Aperture.

It seems that there is an issues with Media Browser and Aperture that is OS X related - AP knows about it and it is on the list for fixing, see Andy S's post #24 in the other thread.

Retina iMac (4K display, 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM) OS X 10.11.6  Capture One 10.
