q_hung
Hi All, Yesterday, I downloaded the trial version and tested the software. When I opened a photo (.CR2 file - Canon 5D Mark IV), it looked not sharp as when I opened from it by other software (Lightroom, IrfantView). Please note that I just opened the photo and did not do anything on the photo adjustment. I do not know if it is due to the trial version or software compatibility with this raw file. Do you have any idea or instructions. Thanks.
Staff MEB Posted March 22, 2018 Staff Share Posted March 22, 2018 Hi q_hung, Welcome to Affinity Forums The difference in sharpness you are seeing is mostly because we don't apply any sharpening to the image by default (contrary to other RAW converters/developers or the JPG's processed by the camera which do apply some sharpening). Go to the Details tab, check/tick Detail Refinement and adjust the sliders to match the result you get in other software. You may also try to increase the Clarity slightly in the Basic tab. Check this video for more information: Affinity Photo - Raw Development Quality.
