Import from Photos

Recommended Posts

I am trying to open a raw photo held in photos but I cannot get it to work. I am using the import from photos method in Affinity Photo for iPad. I tap on that and find and select the photo. It says it is loading but then nothing further happens. It does not appear for editing. Can anyone help please?

What RAW format is the image shot in?

What method did you use to get it into photos (camera roll?.

I have found that some large files can take a while to load so give it some time to do so.

Thanks for your reply.

The photo was shot in CR2 RAW format and transferred from the camera using a lead connected to an iMac into Apple Photos library. I then tried to open the photo into Affinity for iPad on an iPad at which point I didn’t get any further.

I don t think giving it time works. I’m not limiting the time given to import the photo.

Wanted to share this in case it pertains to you. Need google drive though:

If you have the image stored on google drive, import it directly from the safari browser. (Meaning go google drive) via your safari browser. Do not let the app itself do it, otherwise, will not be raw file.

It’ll be the raw file if you download it directly from google drive via the browser. “Request desktop view” choose file, tap download arrow. Done.  Just learned this yesterday myself. Works like a charm.
