dfcollin
I'm using Photo 1.6.4.104. I'm trying to add some additional cropping tool presets. I don't find the instructions in the help document useful.. It says Adjust the context toolbar settings. What does that a mean? It won't take decimal fractions in the boxes specifying dimensions which only take pixels. For instance, if I try to specify 3.33:1 it won't do it. It just changes it to 3 and 1. If I try to then select Add Preset mode it reverts to one of the presets already there. I can't make the instructions work. I would appreciate being directed to a better text or video tutorial or given a more detailed procedure. R C-R
Ratios don't have dimensional units, which is why "Pixels" is greyed out if you select any of the ratio modes. Choose "Custom Ratio" if you want to create a preset based on a ratio. Since it will accept only integer values, for a ratio of 3.33:1 use 333 & 100, as below: Now, just select "Add Preset" from the Mode popup, give it a name, & it should appear on the Mode popup list. dfcollin
Thanks for the information. I think the instructions for adding new presets to the crop tool need to be updated with this information.. It doesn't say to start with Custom Ratio. You can do that if you want to create a ratio preset but for example, if you want a preset for a 4" by 5" crop, you can start with the Absolute Dimensions mode. Basically, any crop mode that allows entry into the two number fields can be the starting point for creating a preset. Stephen Hart
Starting from long-term Photoshop use, I want to duplicate a set of crop presets, for example: 800 px x 600 px 240 px wide etc. I don't see any "Absolute Dimensions mode" available, or any way to set a width only.
