MadMan
Hi folks. I'm new to Affinity Designer after having spent years working with Xara. I've been trying to set a bounded box for entering text so that the text stays and wraps inside that region, but have not found a way yet to do this. Google searching is not being helpful. In Xara, I would just click on the text tool, then drag a rectangle on the page and all the text would stay within that area. What am I missing? Thanks. v_kyr
AD and APh offer graphic- and frame text tools, if you use the frame text tool you should get nearly the same effect here as in Xara. Staff Callum Posted March 15, 2018 Staff Share Posted March 15, 2018 Hi Madman, Are trying to stop the text from overflowing out the bottom of the text box? At the moment that isn't possible I'm afraid. However it has been requested a few times in the past along with text wrapping so they may be added in a future update Thanks Callum Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP. MadMan
Thank you. The Frame Text was new to me, but what you've mentioned is also an important feature to add in the future.
MikeW
Hi Mad, (mwenz from TG here) Yes, Serif went with the same model of text tool(s) as they had in the Plus range (Illustrator also has the two text tools). It's not really efficient per se (like with Xara products) but it does work...one just needs to decide what type of text one desires to use ahead of time. And yep, the overflow is/can be an issue.
