When will Affinity support Raw 2 files from Panasonic G9?

Recommended Posts

Hi Kennikins, the RAW converter in the IPad version of Affinity Photo utilises Apples RAW engine. Your camera does not appear to be listed in the supported cameras list for iOS. If Apple don't support Raw2 files from Panasonic G9 then the  Affinity Photo (iPad) won't be able to process it. If Apple update their engine AP will be able to process it.

The desktop version (Mac) does not have the iPads limitation and has the ability to use a different RAW engine.

This doesn’t help I know but Apple are the problem not Serif.

While you’re waiting for the next update from Apple, try RawTherapee or darktable.

Edit: Unfortunately, I don’t think either of the above is available for iOS.

I have updated my iPad Pro to the latest IOS 11.4 and have the latest Affinity Photo. When I try and open a RAW file from my Panasonic G9, I get a black photo and if I hit the develop button Affinity crashes. According to both Apple and Affinity, both support the G9 RAW files. I even deleted Affinity from my iPad Pro and reinstalled it but got the same results. Any other ideas?
