I'm afraid you have to go with ctrl+z / ctrl+shift+z

Alternatively (on Windows, which I believe the OP is using), Ctrl+Y instead of Ctrl+Shift+Z for Undo.

Unlike Affinity Photo for iPad (and presumably also Affinity Designer for iPad, when it arrives!) the desktop versions of the Affinity apps don’t have Undo/Redo icons, but you can float the History panel in any convenient position on the screen and keep it collapsed until you need it.

In addition to the keyboard shortcuts & the History panel, don't overlook the powerful Snapshot feature that allows you to save your work at any point in time & freely move between those points. Among other things, this means you can take a snapshot, make substantial changes to your work, take another snapshot, & then go back to the first one to copy selected elements before they were changed, return to the later snapshot, & paste them there.

Affinity Photo also has an "Undo Brush" that can be used in conjunction with the History & Snapshot panels to selectively brush areas back to an earlier state.

It has now been nearly a year and it looks like Serif still have not gotten around to adding the undo/redo buttons.  Surely I am not the only one waiting for them?  How do I enter a request for this to be pushed up the todo list?

You can't really influence the priority Serif had signed to any particular enhancement. However, to make a feature request you post to the appropriate sub-forum in the Feature Request forum. That's where Serif looks to see what users are asking for.

Walt, he found an appropriate thread shortly after that post.
