GUI :: Personas ... differentiation & wording ... + Layer-/Wireframe colors

Recommended Posts

This mainly concerns help/manual, then GUI.

I can't understand the idea/concept behind the term "personas" plus some of its features descriptions. I guess these tow modes are much less strictly separated than described here and there. How lucky! – But Affinity's help says:

• Draw Persona

Draw lines and shapes
Add vector brush strokes
Add fills and transparency
Create art and frame text
Add and crop photos and vector images

• Pixel Persona

Make freehand, shape, and brush-based selections
Add pixel brush strokes
Erase using pixel brushes
Retouch with dedicated tools

I can see why these two modes became differentiated.

I can't understand the way it is described/documented in help and gui. For instance:

"Draw lines and shapes"   <–>  true in both modes

"Add fills and transparency"   <–>  true in both modes

"Add and crop photos"<–>  true in both modes (crop in pixel mode by eraser)

"Retouch with dedicated tools"  <–>  true in both modes

"Make freehand, shape, and brush-based selections"  <–>  true in both modes

"Erase using pixel brushes"  <–>  true in both modes (I even can draw a line in pixel mode to 'erase' (mask) a line of vector mode.

(...etc. ...)

Last but not least:  Affinity offers some mode mixing options via the Assistant.

So:

• Would you mind to differentiate these two modes more clearly, more precise both in help and gui?

• How about "Mode" instead of "Persona"? ('persona' means human character attitude, right?)

• Do this two modes need at all any supplement like persona or mode, in the sake to save screen space in the GUI?

• Use two different colors in wireframe and (child)layers to visualize any objects/layers creation mode. A third color for text objects would help, too.
