P29
I purchased affinity designer yesterday, when I went to download it wasn't able to due to my system only running on 32 bit. So after researching, I found that my system is capable of running on the 64 bit. However due to the fact that I have files that I don't want to lose & I'm not a computer tech by any means... I figure we'll maybe it's time to buy a new laptop anyways. So, My 2 questions is on the system requirements needed to download & operate? Next, since I already tried starting the download does that count as one of the devices I'm allowed to download the program to? Really bummed it wasn't clearly noted about system requirements. Really want to love this program but at the time I've paid for something I cant use
Staff Lee D Posted March 5, 2018 Staff Share Posted March 5, 2018 Hi P29, You can find the apps system requirements here, they do need a 64Bit version of Windows running. As the app can't be installed on a 32Bit this doesn't count as one of your devices.
Ayleigh
So affinity can NOT be installed on a 32 bit at all?? Like it's just not possible at all? If so, this is very disappointing to hear. I really need a program to do my work and didn't want to be forced to commit to Adobe again. I was just about to purchase affinity photo and designer but thought I'd look through the forum first. Please let me know soon!!! Thank you.

No it cannot, not at all. I would agree, however, that the page for downloading or buying does not tell you this. I would have expected to see a 'System Requirements' box. It would be well worth your while to upgrade to 64-bit so that you can use Affinity! Alfred
I know this thread is nearly a year old, but I don’t understand the reference to “one of your devices”. Just as is the case now, there was no limit a year ago to the number of devices on which a user could install an Affinity app for his or her own use, as long as those devices are owned or controlled by the licensee. I would have expected to see a 'System Requirements' box. If you purchase from the Serif Affinity Store the System Requirements are shown. But you have to get down to the bottom of the page (resisting the intermediate "Buy Now" buttons). https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/designer/desktop/ Also, if you get down that far, you will find the free trial, and trying to install the free trial would have the same issues, alerting you not to buy even if you hadn't read the System Requirements. (I do not know if or where they are shown in the Windows Store or the Mac Store.) I have to admit that, despite scrolling to the end, I missed the System Requirements link. My excuse is a combination of failing eyesight and grey text on a black background. It does not exactly stand out! John walt.farrell 1 Quote Windows 10, Affinity Photo 1.10.5 Designer 1.10.5 and Publisher 1.10.5 (mainly Photo), now ex-Adobe CC CPU: AMD A6-3670. Windows 10 64bit with a geforce gtx graphics card. So hopefully it will be good enough to run Affinity Designer and Photo. I'm going to get Designer first and then in a week or two I'm going to get Photo. So, I'm excited to try it out!
