Back and White with no grey scale

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to create a black and white image with no grey scale ?

Also is it possible to produce a black and white pen and ink facsimile with an artistic filter ?

I have been able to do both of these in the past on Photoshop with their artistic filter selection

No. This has been requested several times in the features request section. I suggest that you add your support  to the latest one.

Another way?

Add a white rectangle over the entire image change the rectangle's blend mode to Contrast Negate

Here's one way:

Open the image, then duplicate the 'Background' layer. Uncheck the lower background layer in the stack to make it invisible. This keeps a copy of the original just in case, as the following two steps are destructive.

Make sure the top layer is selected, then pull down the Filters menu and choose Detect --- Detect Edges:

Now pull down the Layer menu and choose Invert:

Now add a Black and White adjustment layer and play with the settings until you're happy:

I'm sure there are lots of other ways...
