Regarding your question, the Affinity range uses an entirely new code base, developed from the ground up to be able to take advantage of new hardware & API's, offer Mac & Windows cross-platform & inter-app file compatibility, highly efficient memory utilization, & several other things that could not be done using the aging code of the Plus apps. A consequence of this is there are many features that have as yet not been implemented in the Affinity apps.

So basically, it is a mix of strengths & weaknesses compared to the Plus range.

All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.1 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7
Affinity Photo
1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7

On the other hand, Affinity Designer has a number of features that were never implemented in Serif DrawPlus. Constraints and Symbols spring to mind.

Once we get a Blend Tool, a Replicate Tool (as distinct from a Replicate command, which would be quite similar to the ‘Power Duplicate’ feature) and a Dimension Tool, there will be few things I need to go back to DrawPlus for.

Just leave your computer in a dark, damp place for a few weeks & I am sure you will get lots of fungus to work with. :P

It's a little know fact that spiders are really fast typists.

They are let down by their handwriting. That's all.
