Staff Callum Posted March 2, 2018 Staff Posted March 2, 2018 Hi JimGo, Welcome to the forums There isn't any tool like the Warp Options in Affinity Designer I'm afraid. However Mesh warp/distort tool and additional text features is something that is on our RoadMap to be added in a future update! Thanks Callum Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
daibhidh Posted March 22, 2019 Posted March 22, 2019 I love AD, but hate having to use a 20-yr-old copy of CorelDraw to do a simple text distortion. Any chance v.1.7 will be able to do this? Quote

I doubt it will be implemented, otherwise they would already have announced some sort of freeform or envelope distortion as an AD v.1.7 feature. - So one has still to use other third party vector tools for things like this. Thomahawk Posted August 8, 2019 Posted August 8, 2019 I am missing something like that too. It is so very basic for work in a vector app. Af Photo has it for pixels. But I really need this for vector objects too. Quote
Unknown Designer Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 I have AD on my iPad Pro and have done some designs/illustrations on it, I really love the pen tool and controls. I would consider it for my PC (as an alternative or replacement for AI) but. It's missing one thing. Text warp/distort as the OP has demonstrated. In the illustration attached, the character design was done almost entirely in AD, but I had to export the file and finish it in illustrator for the typography. It seems this request has been on the board for some time, and I am not sure how far down the roadmap it will be. I really do feel this is a very important productivity tool that should be in any design software tool kit. I suppose I could hand design the text distorts but for most applications it's just not an efficient use of my time (unless I really want custom type). I may just purchase the desktop version anyways and hope that the feature is added soon... I really want to support this software, I think you guys are doing a great job on features up to this point.
