Rob Chisholm Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Hello AP, I wish to open images from app photo on the ipad. Reasons i can view image in app photo on screen at full size and then choose to open in AP. If I am correct another user told me you could do this before, but not now. If you see the screen grab, it probably much clearer as to which is the image I wish to open ? Difficlut is it not to tell which is which of the starlings over the pier. (If i have missed something and it can be done please post) I have included other apps you can choose from to open the image, example Procreate. Regards Rob Quote
DM1 Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 There is currently no direct 'Share' option to open or copy to AP from iOS photos. Hopefully this feature will be added soon. A work around is to open AP to the project screen then drag photo up from bottom of screen and place alongside AP. You can view and select your photos them drag them onto the AP Project desktop. You can create a project folder first, open the folder, select multiple files from photos and drag and drop into the AP open folder. To choose multiple files, tap and hold on one file then tap others as desired. Then drag them across to AP. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). Rob Chisholm Posted March 1, 2018 Author Posted March 1, 2018 Many thanks for the info DM1, I will have a go at what you suggested and see what I can achieve using the IOS Here is a future version of how I like to see interaction between the IOS and apps. Once common repeat command actions in AP is open and exporting files. DM1 1 Quote
DM1 Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 @Rob Chisholm A little off thread but how do you insert the video. I can play this but not play mp4 Files with Safari. Was it via a URL? Was it via a URL? Tap the Share arrow in the top right-hand corner to reveal the ‘secret’: that video has been uploaded to YouTube. Rob Chisholm Posted March 2, 2018 Author Posted March 2, 2018 Hello DM1, the method I used was share link from Youtube and paste into the page, the forum will automatically show the video. DM1 1 Quote
DM1 Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 It's a little annoying that Safari on the iPad will not download and play an mp4 video file I have to swap to iCabMobile to do this. For goodness sake Apple, it’s your preferred format! (End rant). Unfortunately uploading to Utube is something I prefer not to have to do. Does solve the viewing problem though. DM1 Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 It’s more to do with viewing files such as screen recordings that people post here. Just annoying to have to swap from Safari to iCabMobile to download. This is really something (iPad) Safari should be able to do. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). Rob Chisholm Posted March 2, 2018 Author Posted March 2, 2018 Hello DM1, Just to clarify your not able to view this video in safari on an iPad is that correct ? Regards Rob Quote
Alfred Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 YouTube and Vimeo videos are OK, Rob. @DM1 is talking about the screen recordings that users post in MP4 format: this works fine on most modern desktop browsers, but not in Safari on an iPad. Rob Chisholm Posted March 2, 2018 Author Posted March 2, 2018 Now I understand Alfred, thank you, were referring to the built in screen and audio recording app of the IOS in the iPad. If it helps any if I record this way and upload to Youtube the video will play but no audio, the video plays fine here with audio on the iPad. (not tried to play on desk top) To get around this I put the said screen recorded video into Lumafusion and say detach audio and export which it then plays fine once uploaded to Youtube with no audio issues. Their is a free app (I used but cannot find at mo) this is for converting video files to suitable uses. Yes DM1 correct apple can you sort this out please, I made a post in connection on apple site only the other day asking if others are having same issues. Regards Rob Quote

I don’t have LumaFusion (yet!) but thanks for the tip.
