Raw Import from Photos not 16 bit

I’m having an issue where I can’t seem to import Raw images from my iCloud synced Photos library. The images are tagged RAW in the import windows, but when I open them, the image opens without the develop persona, and when saved, shows the image is 8 bit, not 16 bit. I can open them as Raw if they are first saved to iCloud Drive, or if I use Photos option to edit in photoshop express. So the issue only seems to occur using the import from Photos option in Affinify. 

 

Should this work?

 

Using the latest 1.6.7 version

Can you confirm the make and model of camera the RAW files where taken on. Have you tried importing them from the Photos app, but with the files stored locally and not in iCloud.

Sony a6000 and a7ii 

it works if they are not stored in the cloud.

Oddly enough, I just imported some directly into photos on my iPad (as opposed to importing to photos on my Mac), and while still stored in the cloud, they are opening fine as Raws, although all the other raws in library don’t open as raw.
