Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer are no working together

Hello 

I run Affinity Photo 1.6.6 and Affinity Designer 1.5.1

it used to be easy to switch from one to the other, by simply clicking on edit in Designer when I was in Photo and edit in Photo when I was in Designer. 

Now I can't even import a Photo file created by Affinity Photo into Designer unless I convert it into a jep. 

What am I missing ?

Please upload Designer to the latest version (1.6). When there's updates to the programs we usually also update/improve our file format. To ensure compatibility between files and apps please make sure you are running the latest versions of both programs. If you still experience issues after the update let us know.

For some reason I cannot find how to update it. Sorry, can you tell me where to go.

Hi Plaristo,

Open the Mac App Store (make sure you are logged-in with the same Apple ID used to buy the app), go to the Updates tab and click the Update button in front of the app from the list below. If Designer isn't listed there, sign-out then sign-in again in the Mac App Store. If it still doesn't appear there, uninstall the app, dragging it from the Applications folder to the Trash (and empty it) then go to the Mac App Store and install Designer again. It should install the latest version.

which was very useful. now i cant even inport an affinity photo file leave alone just switch to edit in photo or designer. i have currently photo
