Recommended Posts

Click here to download the latest beta

Status: Customer Beta
Purpose: Stability
Requirements: A valid product key (issued if Affinity Designer was purchased from the Affinity Store).

As this is a beta it is considered to be not suitable for production use. This means that you should not attempt to use it for commercial purposes or for any other activity that you may be adversely affected by the application failing, including the total loss of any documents.

We hope you enjoy the latest build, and as always, if you've got any problems, please don't hesitate to post here and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. Thanks once again for your continued feedback.

If you have a general question about the software, please head over to the Questions Forum, or if you have any suggestions, please head over to the Feature Requests forum.

Fixes

  • No longer install .NET framework 4.7.1, but it will still be required to fix issues with Surface Pen (users need to manually install it)

  • Fixed popup closing when dragging an export token

Hi Mark, I have small tiny request - can you (in future maybe) put version name in every software-related filename? Like affinity-designer-customer-beta-1.6.3.101.exe?

Hi, the idea is that you always use the latest version of the beta software, in order to help us identify and fix bugs, and improve the quality of the product.

Thank you Mark, seems to be the same problem.

Followed Gnobelix solution, after uninstalling the driver the beta works fine. Reinstalled the driver the beta crashes again. When I disable the HID pen in the device manager the beta doesn't crash even with the Gaomon driver installed.

Just figured out that AP, AD and even Photoshop don't work with the tablet any longer.

Edit: I'm such an idiot: pen battery was down, that's why the pen didn't work in regular versions of AP and AD! So following Gnobelix' solution works fine with my system, disabling the HID pen helps and the beta doesn't crash any longer! Thank you very much for your help Mark
