Polygonius Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 Any way to save all my palettes, styles, macros... with less clicks to my HDD (i have lot of categories and i do not want to save each individual by hand)? Also if i migrate from one compi to another - is there a big user-ressources-file or similar where all this stuff is stored? I´m able to open the app-package or to search my osx application support librarys and to show hidden files and doing other stunts like this... There is no one file that stores all these things; instead there are several different ones storing different types of data. Since they are per user settings, on Macs they are stored in the Library folder of the user's home folder (by convention abbreviated as "~/Library" in path names) rather than in the System/Library or /Library folders. Specifically, they are stored in the subfolders of ~/Library/Containers/com.seriflabs.affinityphoto/Data/Library/ (yes, yet another Library folder!), for example in its Application Support/user subfolder. Only some of these files store user resources. Some store data specific to the current or last state of the app, aliases to other apps, caches, & so on, so you can't safely just copy everything from one computer to another. However, some like the ".propcol" (short for "property collections"?) ones should be useable for this purpose, but there are no guarantees about that, so proceed with caution (& good backups!) if you want to try that. Polygonius Posted February 17, 2018 Author Posted February 17, 2018 Ok,i have copied the whole folder from 1.66 to the 167 beta and it works fine: Got maybe 70 new categories in all tools with "one click" :-) Really nice. Thank you. BTW: my autosave-folder is quite big. Some "single-files" are really old and over 150 MB. What are this files? Old rescure-files, i can now trash? Or are this my "snapshots" and i better let untouched? Quote OSX 12.5 / iMac Retina 27" / Radeon Pro 580X / Metall: on! --- WWG1WGA WW!

Either way, keep in mind that just because it worked this one time that it may not always work without causing stability issues or other problems, & the more indiscriminate you are about how much you copy the more likely that becomes. The Application Support/autosave folder saves files containing data about open document files. If the app quits normally, these files should be removed automatically. If the app quits unexpectedly, the app can use these files to 'rescue' some unsaved changes to those documents, but only on the next launch of the app. So you should be able to trash them without causing problems if you do not get an offer to open those documents on the next launch, but again there are no guarantees, so proceed at your own risk. Polygonius Posted February 17, 2018 Author Posted February 17, 2018 I just copied the user-subfolder in that path. And of course i made a backup of the original folder before;-) But no need to reset so far :-) Ok, than i will trash my austosaves - on my small SSD i need every MB Thank you!
