Learned
I seem to be having a hard time with something, or at least figuring out something with Affinity. Let's say I have a canvas that is 1024x768. If I paste something in that is larger, typically I would grab the handles and shrink it down to fit in the canvas available. With Affinity Photo, if the image I paste in is larger than the canvas, there seems to be no way to move it around as a separate layer on the canvas, shrink or reposition it. This problem doesn't happen if I paste a smaller image, say 800x600 into the 1024x768 canvas. In that case I can move, transform with no problem. I do need to be able to move larger elements around, or at minimum, have them resize into the canvas when I paste in the new layer. Am I missing something basic? Staff Lee D Posted February 17, 2015 Staff Share Posted February 17, 2015 Welcome to the forums, Have you tried zooming out and with the layer selected and then use the Move Tool.
Staff acapstick Posted February 19, 2015 Staff Share Posted February 19, 2015 You could also use the Transform panel (bottom right) to shrink selected image to match canvas size. :-) Andy Capstick
Learned
I had attempted zoom out, but it didn't seem to help. Maybe my second image was just to big. I will play with the transform panel. Thanks
