heldrida Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 Hi, I'd like to make a selection and create a shadow, like we do in Gimp or Photoshop; how is that? Seems so far that I have to copy the selection and then operate with that? This means, having to colour, blend, blur, all sorts of stuff that may come to your mind, etc; I'd like to be able to do this quickly...and generate an outter shadow based on the selection Quote
firstdefence Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 Select your layer/object Click on the fx icon Choose Outer Shadow Play around with the settings, make sure you don't just tick the box at the side. You can hide the shape by making sure its white and then changing the blend mode of the layer to Multiply. firstdefence Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 @Alfred Actually in doing this post I may have found an easy way to sort another post out to do with a masking effect. Nope didn't do what I wanted so close lol! You can also hide the shape itself and just get the FX by just setting its opacity to zero in the fx-box. And do not missmatch: firstdefence is meaning the blend-mode on the shape-layer, not the blend mode for the shadow and the shape must be 100% white!!!! So, turn down the opacity will hide the shape, but keeping all FX of it and its approximatly the more easy way;-) Quote OSX 12.5 / iMac Retina 27" / Radeon Pro 580X / Metall: on! --- WWG1WGA WW!
