Is it possible to copy gradients and paste them onto other objects? Or, i.e. copy a gradient from the Fill and paste it into the Stroke of the same object?

Hello Heres Johnny,

I would use the Swatches palette. Save a gradient as a new swatch. Then you can assign the gradient to fills and strokes to other objects.

That's how I do it. But I have my custom palettes all set up and I don't want to create new palettes just to copy a color from one source to another. Especially when working with complex designs. It's slowing me down.

I see. Good to know that you already know about the palette method :)

Perhaps a dialog with options for 'Paste Style' would be a future enhancement to solve your problem?

I gave this a second thought. If there were something like an 'object properties inspector' that lists each and every aspect of a selected object, then there could be a 'copy property' button with each of them and also a 'paste property'. That way there would be very detailed control on what get's copied from one object to another.

This could be enhanced with multiple of the same property like multiple outlines. The paste command would then be enhanced to 'paste and replace' or 'paste and add property'.

Perhaps this is closer to what you are asking for?
