Though the shape rects would probably have to be converted to curves first too and I'm not sure if the handles themself really do snap to something then here. It is working fine here for nodes on either the yellow or green curve without needing to convert the rectangles to curves or unlocking the "control" group they are a part of. I tested with Affinity Designer 1.6.7 (Beta 3) for Mac if that makes any difference. EDIT: I just realized this is about node control handles, not nodes. That doesn't work at all.
