macmad
Installed on Yosemite for testing. Hopefully will be able to "kick the tires" this week. It is running at ~150M Ram. I will see how it handles loading extras this week. Any suggestions on testing? I do not understand the Ram usage setting in the preference. It is very old school. These days it is simple, run out of Ram, get more. Can't fit any more, get a new computer.
Staff Andy Somerfield Posted August 5, 2014 Staff Share Posted August 5, 2014 Hi, The RAM setting in prefs is a common setting across all Affinity apps. If we were only doing a design app, it probably wouldn't be there.. It's far more important for Affinity Photo, which uses a totally new, state-of-the-art memory management architecture for dealing with massive (many gigapixel) images in realtime.. It's probably safe to totally ignore it for Designer.. Thanks, AndyS
