Affinity Photo feels sluggish with large simple documents

Hi,

 

I've noticed something with Affinity Photo. It feels very sluggish with simple large documents. I'm currently working on a very simple high-res document 10 000 x 5000 px 16 bit, with just 2-3 pixel layers and even simple operations are very slow (merging layers, brush painting etc). Is there something I could do to make it faster? I think that my PC is pretty powerful (please check my signature) and that shouldn't be the problem here.

That's a good spec, so maybe thats not the issue. They do pander to the male ego when naming CPU's and GPUs don't they "Threadripper" lol! 

 

Got a screen shot of what you are creating so we can get a feel for what you are working with?

 

Tried a same size document as yours and brush work is fine although I am using a Mac but its not as gutsy as your system.

Hi Alex_M,

 

If you could post the .afphoto file you are working with, i'll test it out on my Windows machine in the office, which isn't anywhere near as good as the PC you are using, so will be interesting to see what happens.
