Atomicstar
When using vector masks is it possible to be move the image under it ? Instead of only moving the curve/shape over the image ? I guess like indesign handles cropping images ? cheers
firstdefence
Doesn't look like it, a workaround to this would be to create the shape you want for the mask, make sure it is above the image you want to mask, set it to say 50% opacity so that you can see the image below, place the mask where you want it to be, and move the image until it looks right for you, then in the layers panel right click on the shape and select Mask Below. Atomicstar
Excellent, thanks Toltec thats what I was after !
telemax
Move the image in to the mask, but not vice versa. If move image to the mask, "Lock Children" not needed. Adds
I created a vector Mask following this video (link below). But I am not able to invert the mask using CMD + I.. Please suggest? Reference Video:

Please suggest? You can't do that because there really is no clearly defined inverse of a geometrically defined shape like a vector object. For example, if someone asked you to draw the inverse of a circle, polygon, or rectangle, what would you draw? So as @owenr explained, you have to subtract one shape from another to simulate 'inverting' it. Something to be aware of in Affinity Photo if you try using the Layer > Invert option on a vector mask is there is a setting in the Assistant Manager that if enabled will 'helpfully' (or not!) convert a vector mask layer to a pixel one: I was a bit surprised that for all vector objects (not just masks or filters) this enables the Layer > Invert option, which if selected will rasterize them to pixel layers, so if you don't want that to trip you up, you might want to set it to "Take No Action."
