Maria Chiara Borelli
I downloaded The trial Afinity version on my i Mac. It runs in El Capitan and it has a memory of 8 GB, 4 unused. The hardware memory is of 499,25 GB, of which 215,79 unsused. Affinity doesn't recognized mt camera when connected to the computer in order to download photos (I shoot in raw) and it is impossible to download more than one photo at a time even when the camera memory card is slotted in the computer. Also, once I have managed to download one photo, it is very very slow. In other words, it is unusable. Pity!
Staff MEB Posted January 26, 2018 Staff Share Posted January 26, 2018 Hi Maria Chiara Borelli, Welcome to Affinity Forums Affinity Photo is a RAW converter/developer and photo editing app. It's not intended to manage libraries, import photos from cameras or apply the same settings to multiples photos at once as regular DAM softwares (Lightroom, Aperture etc). It's more comparable to Adobe Camera RAW + Photoshop, where you open a RAW file and develop it in Adobe Camera RAW then move to Photoshop for further (localised) editing. So to use your RAW files in Affinity you have to transfer them to a folder on your iMac first then open them from that folder. By default all RAW files open in Develop Persona where you perform the initial development/conversion (adjust exposure, recover shadows/highlights etc) then clicking on the blue Develop button on the top left of the interface the RAW is processed and moved to Photo Persona where you can use regular photo-editing tools/features to further refine the image (masks, filters, channels etc etc). Check those two video tutorials for more info about Personas and how to work with Affinity: Discover Affinity Photo Getting Started For additional video tutorials check this thread: Official Affinity Photo (Desktop) Video Tutorials Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference | Call for Camera Images
