How to activate the picker on a curves adj layer

Recommended Posts

I purchased Affinity at the Mac App Store yesterday and I am enjoying it greatly. I haven't been able, however, to activate or enable the picker on a curves panel. Is there a setting I have missed in the preferences or a particular keyboard shortcut?

I watched a video where someone clicks on the picker and then on he image in order to place nodes in the curves adjustment. In my case this process is not working, I am unable to place nodes on the curves panel.

Thanks for your help.

Then, when you click on the image, you must drag the mouse slightly, or it wont work. You can't just click.

Also, from what I can tell you have to click again on the Picker button again to set an additional node on the curve after you have successfully added one by dragging the mouse. IOW, 'picker mode' is enabled once per click of the button, if that makes any sense.

Not on my PC. The more you click, the more you get.

I stand corrected. That seems to be true for the Mac version as well. I think what was confusing me was I made the mistake of testing with an image file with a severely reduced color palette, so I kept picking the same point on the curve when I clicked & dragged in several different parts of the canvas. Not too surprisingly, that always moved the existing node instead of creating a new one. :$
