timetrialler
I cannot seem to resize a particular document that I have spent a few hours working on. My solution is to create a new document and paste all the elements from the old one. When I go to File => Document Setup, I see that under the Dimensions section, the "Type", "Page Preset", "Dimensions", "Objects will: " and "Resample" controls are disabled (i.e. darkened and uneditable). I cannot seem to figure out why this is so. I tried restarting Designer and re-opening the document and it still is this way. Did I lock the document somehow? I am using the 10 day trial version but I still have some days left in the trial. Designer is great BTW and I want to buy a license at the end of the trial, but for now I need to be able to resize the document. Any help would be appreciated. R C-R
Best guess: you are using Artboards. If so, there is no document size as such, but the size of each Artboard can be adjusted by selecting it (not its contents) with the Move Tool & either changing the W & H values in the Transform panel or dragging the handles in the workspace. aqualith 1 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.1 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 Affinity Photo 1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.
timetrialler
Ok, I figured it out. I can select the artboard by clicking on the name label that sits atop the artboard. I did not know this. Now I know, and can the artboard by dragging its corners. Thanks everyone aqualith

With the Move Tool selected, select the artboard layer (so it is highlighted in the Layers panel, not any of its child layers). On the context Toolbar look for the "Lock Children" item. (It should be the rightmost item on the toolbar, so you may have to click on the >> button to show it if your screen is not wide enough to show everything.) If you want the artboard's child layers to resize, untick the lock.
