File Save As dialog - Filename suffix

It would be great if Photo could allow for a configurable filename suffix for the Save-As dialog.  This helps out with editing work-flow without tedious manual updates on every save.

For a configurable file type like you want, I think you need to use File->Export not File->Save As. Save As is intended to save only in Affinity Photo's custom file type, .afphoto.

Looking at his post, I think he's looking for the ability to File->Save As to, e.g., .tif format. That's not Save As, in the Affinity product line, but Export.

But this is just an "example" of how the prefix/suffix definitions can be look. It has nothing to do with Affinity SaveAs/Export dialogs.

For this I use Export Persona, that gives you much more flexibility in how you export.

But his example doesn't show the file type being "configurable", merely "selectable". And that's an Export, not a Save As. Affinity's dialog looks different, but it has what he's said and shown that he wants.

More flexibility yes, but even here you can not set parameters for filenames permanently for "every save".

Ah. Thanks; I was misunderstanding that aspect of his request, and thinking that by suffix he meant filetype.

Regarding export persona/prefixes.

This is my example setup, I use it to export works I prepared for IG. Resizes the fiel to 1024px on longer side, and exports three times, with different resizing options. All in one button.

This took a bit of time, but now I have single preset and single button export. Bonus, I do iterate in my filenames, so it also remebers my last iteration (ie. img_1, img_1_1, img_2) and I just need to update the value here..
