MichaelKing
1. Select the Layer with the item you want to expand. 2. From the Layer menu, select Expand Stroke.

Kartoffelsalat
Okay, I've got a problem left isn´t is possible to convert a whole layer, or an group and convert everything? Same for "convert it into curves" Sometimes I've the feeling I need to click much more than in illustrator. For Example, you want to subtract 2 Objects at the same time from an other one in the back. When you select all three Objects, it just work on one of theme, and you have to click on the second Object too and subtract it.
Staff MEB Posted January 19, 2018 Staff Share Posted January 19, 2018 Hi Kartoffelsalat, Welcome to Affinity Forums You can select multiple objects/layers and apply these commands (Convert to Curves and Expand Stroke) to all of them at once. In the case of layers/groups you have to select all objects contained inside first then apply the command. Regarding boolean operations you should be able to perform them on more than two objects. What type of objects are you working with? Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

Kartoffelsalat
Hello? is it me you are looking for? (sorry for my German humor) How can I transform a Brush into a Shape? There is a other Software which I normally use, it has the function "live trace" for stuff like that. Is there a similar function in Affinity Designer? gdenby
Hi, Kartoffelsalat, FWIW, this section of the forum is for posting complete tutorials. You should post to the Questions section for how-to-dos. AD does not have a bitmap trace function. At present, use a free or inexpensive utility that is designed for the task.
