Erider Posted January 16, 2018 Share Posted January 16, 2018 Hi everybody ! I currently have a problem with textured borders under Affinity Designer (1.6.1.93). These do not close properly as you can see in the attached image (whether on a font or on a vector object ... even on a simple circle). firstdefence Posted January 16, 2018 Share Posted January 16, 2018 Which brush are you using, I tried a similar looking brush and got a better result with the Pull option. Also some brushes are designed or don't work well with a large pt size. Have you tried playing with the stroke panel and things like the cap, join and align? Erider Posted January 16, 2018 Author Share Posted January 16, 2018 Thank for your answer. I use the textured brush #4. I just tried others, same problem. Only the standard brush works correctly without artefacts ... I also tried the pull option, and all options the brush menu and the stroke menu can offer... This is because the brushes you're using have textured endings to them. They can work if you break the node at your indicated circle positions and use a round or square cap option. This, however, is just a way to overlap the ends. It may or may not yield an acceptable result.... especially if the image used for the stroke has any transparency. Also, and more importantly, it would require changing the fonts to outlines and addressing every single letter. Not fun. Or The other option is: Make a new brush with straight cut off ends. You can make it from a stroke using an existing brush with the ends masked off. (Just make sure the resolution is what you need.) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I would like to use a textured brush as a border around a circle, but it also has a gap. Is there a way to copy an existing brush and quickly modify it to have closed ends?
