chris.bannu
Hi guys, There's an option to hold ctrl and see the distance between an object and other objects, with the first object selected. Can I disable this option? I use it, it's very useful, but not always, and it's sometimes annoying to press Ctrl for something else and see lots and lots of arrow/lines and distances, it's distracting. Thank you, Chris
Staff MEB Posted January 11, 2018 Staff Share Posted January 11, 2018 Hi chris.bannu, No, it's not possible disable it. I'm moving this thread to the Feature Requests section. matisso 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
chris.bannu
Hi MEB, Actually I did found ways to disable it. 1. Fixed pixel alignment = disabled, that will make distances appear when using Ctrl. 2. If Force pixel alignment is enabled, also enabling the Snap will make the distances appear when using Ctrl. Killing any of the above will make it disappear I'm not sure if a feature request is necessary. Cheers, Chris
Staff MEB Posted January 11, 2018 Staff Share Posted January 11, 2018 If it's not working it's because you don't have an object selected. Snapping doesn't have interference on this. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
chris.bannu
I re-tested this again, and it behaves the same. So it's probably a bug if it's not a feature. Not that I mind, I like this bug Alfred
Staff MEB Posted January 11, 2018 Staff Share Posted January 11, 2018 You're right. It turns it off when Force Pixel Alignment (only) is enabled. Have to check with the dev team if this is intentional or if i'm missing something... [EDIT] This is a bug [/EDIT]. My apologies for the mistake. [EDIT] Issue logged. matisso 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

chris.bannu
yup, me too but if they do, it would be great to make this an option, it feels very intrusive, but it's also very useful sometimes.
chris.bannu
Just wanted to ask if this issue has been addressed. If it hasn't I beg you don't fix it until there is an option to enable/disable this. It's really useful, but it's amazingly distracting. Thank you
Staff MEB Posted January 25, 2018 Staff Share Posted January 25, 2018 Hi chris.bannu, This issue was logged and is currently assigned to one of the developers. I noted in the report that currently there's no way to disable this feature when needed (apart from the bug) so hopefully this will also be considered as an improvement. chris.bannu
Hi MEB, Thank you for the reply That sounds great. If the developers will not add this feature, at least I hope they won't fix this bug, at least not until the feature is added Again, thank you for an amazing product. Affinity quickly became my main tool, even though it doesn't export text to psd as editable text. I am currently using a very difficult work around, which involved recreating text that has more than 1 line, but it's still worth it
