Ctrl -> to view distances: how to disable?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

There's an option to hold ctrl and see the distance between an object and other objects, with the first object selected. Can I disable this option? I use it, it's very useful, but not always, and it's sometimes annoying to press Ctrl for something else and see lots and lots of arrow/lines and distances, it's distracting.

Thank you,

Chris

Hi MEB,

Actually I did found ways to disable it.

1. Fixed pixel alignment = disabled, that will make distances appear when using Ctrl.

2. If Force pixel alignment is enabled, also enabling the Snap will make the distances appear when using Ctrl.

Killing any of the above will make it disappear :) I'm not sure if a feature request is necessary.

Cheers,

Chris

I re-tested this again, and it behaves the same. So it's probably a bug if it's not a feature. Not that I mind, I like this bug :)

If it is indeed a bug, I hope (for your sake) that they don't squash it!

Hi MEB,

Thank you for the reply :) That sounds great. If the developers will not add this feature, at least I hope they won't fix this bug, at least not until the feature is added :D

Again, thank you for an amazing product. Affinity quickly became my main tool, even though it doesn't export text to psd as editable text. I am currently using a very difficult work around, which involved recreating text that has more than 1 line, but it's still worth it :)
