DarkClown Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 I'm constantly struggeling witht the non-modal dialogs in AP. A good example is the gradient tool. Selecting a radial gradient and the color field (since it always pops up with a completely unusable color selection this is required each time). Clicking on the color selection field opens up the color selection box. After selecting the new color for one side of the color range I try to close the color selection box (intuitively by clicking somewhere outside the dialog field). This now completely deselects the gradient command. Seeting it back all the stupic start-up setting and even removing the type of gradient. Since I'm not a self declared geniusit took me ages to get the grasp of what I was doing wrong. It's already difficult enough to get one color edge right without deselecting the complete commant ... it's getting near to impossible to choose both sides of the color range (an not making the mistake to click at the wrong position somewhere in the AP workspace). I'm sure the programmers think that's brainy ... for most user it's not. A modal dialog for the color selection box with an "OK" and a "Cancel" button could easily solve this problem. I also don't understand why AP keeps some dialogs open that only require one time entry (and could be called again if a parameter change is required). E.g. Black & white filter dialog, gaussian blur or many other filter parameters. A simple "OK" and "Cancel" would be far more intuitive and not wasting document space. DarkClown Posted March 3, 2018 Author Posted March 3, 2018 Since this seems to be a workflow topic ... and so I guess no one at serif bothers ... Am I the only one that struggles with the lack of basic windows style guide adaption and essential handling topics?
