I need some help as a beginner here. The denoise feature was working on my macbook pro, and then all of a sudden it wasn't. Not matter if I unlock all layers or merge, ZERO denoise is shown no matter which 'view' or degree of denoise I choose. Why was it working before, and now it isn't?!

 Please help!

Which denoise feature are you trying to use?  There are two filters and a live filter layer in the Photo persona, plus another feature in the Develop persona (which we can work out isn't the one you're using).  Is this problem affecting just one image or is it all of them?  If you were using Windows I'd suggest resetting the app when it starts - unfortunately I don't know how to do that with a Mac, but I'm sure some kind soul will be able to tell us.

It the same process as on Windows, just start Affinity with the CTRL key held down and you'll get the reset options :)

Hard to say what‘s going on without further information. Does it happen with all images or just with one specific image? Assuming you don’t mean the Develop Persona: To narrow down the issue, first try denoising with just one pixel layer that needs to be selected when you apply the filter. If this works, something is obviously wrong with the layers stack of the image in question. You do know the concept of nested layers so you can make sure the Denoise filter is e.g. not applied to an adjustment layer or another live filter?
