How to share in AP IOS

Recommended Posts

Hi there!

I'am planning to migrate my Lightroom Catalogue to Mylio.

From there on i want to use my Ipad Pro and Mylio

to Edit pictures in Affinity Photo.

Unfortunately i cannot find any possibility within

the architecture of Ios to share out of Mylio to

Affinity Photo.

Does Serif plan to integrate the share sheet functionality

common to the most photography apps on Ios? Otherweise

my investment in Affinity was useless, because roundtripping via

photos converts my raw images from Mylio in Jpgs :-/

Thx for any advice how to share or

any idea if Serif plans to integrate this basic functionality.

Manuel

If you go to export page in Affinity Photo, on the bottom left is a 'Share' button. Mylio, if installed, appears on the share list. You may have to select the 'More' item on the share list and turn on Mylio share button.

Hi DM!

Thanks for your answer - unfortunately that was not my question.

I want to roundtrip from Mylio into Affinity Photo.

But that is not possible - or do i oversee something?

In Mylio there is a share button, too.

But AP is not in the List - even if i tap on more.

It is the standard Apple Share Dialog i'am referring to

not something special Mylio is doing.

Is there any way to add AP to the standard share function in Ios?

Sorry, missed that bit. Way to add AP to iOS share manually? Not that I am aware of. Apparently the current beta version has some major improvements to file sharing which may address this problem. A question on the beta thread may provide a better answer.

Well according to several articles I've read related to this theme (Mylio iPad version), it's pretty limited on iOS and not on par with it's desktop counterparts. See ...

...Since Mylio is poorly adapted to iOS, you get on the iPad only JPEG copies from the library, not the original Raw. Developing a raw file let's say in Photoshop Express instead of in Mylio is not available. In addition, images must be imported via the FotosApp, an import via file system is not provided. The desktop versions do not have both limitations....

Here are some reference articles in german language related to Mylio, iPad, iOS image management, photo file sharing (use Google translate for translation into other languages) ...

You could create a Shortcut (using iOS Shortcuts) to have Open in Affinity Photo. As long as the amyloid share list shows Shortcuts, you can share with any app now.

Settings for a Affinity Photo shortcut shown below. Once created, tap Share in amyloid, tap Shortcuts and tap the Affinity Photo shortcut.

This sounds very promising, but unfortunately I can‘t find out how you got to that screen.

Does one need a separate app for it? I doubt you mean Apples Siri shortcut app.

Thanks!

EDIT: found out the „Shortcuts“ app is not just for Siri.

I now recreated the shortcut, but unforutnately it neither shows up for RAWs nor for JPGs in the photos app share window.

does it work for you?

If I select jpg in photo library and tap Share I get the shortcut option. Is that what you mean?

I‘d like to have AP directly next to evernote, dropbox etc.

Yes, they have been a number of requests for this. Updates are long overdue but Serif are beta testing a 1.7 version on desktops with new features. Hopefully these will port across to the iPad before the years ends.  The Shortcuts app is just a workaround until Serif do something to fix this.

right now it only opens the jpg, not the RAW.

Not sure what format your attachment was but I could only view it in nplayer.

I can open raw files using the Shortcut app to open in AP. You need to make sure the RAW format used is one currently supported by Apple’s RAW engine. The Desktop version can use Affinity raw engine or Apple but IPad is limited to Apple raw.

I have a sony a7 III

Apparently the photos app doesnt support the ARW files, because sending from camera roll over airdrop to my macbook also only gives ne the JPGs. I shoot and import raw+jpeg to the ipad.

i am curious if you can send your raws via airdrop.

That Camera appears on the supported list.  https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT208967

Its possible that you may only be transferring the jpg version to the photo library. Do a search in the bugs forum as I recall that camera being mentioned before. :)

Hmm. When i open the photos in affinity, the raw converter opens and when I pull up the shadows there‘s still is a lot of information.

In iMazing I see the raws in the system files, but when I navigate to the favorites folder, still inside iMazing, there are only jpegs.. thats odd, isn‘t it?
