"Shear" filter with vectors and text?

Recommended Posts

Photo automatically convert text to bitmap to apply this filter.

Is it possible to make it to work with editable text?

Is it possible to include it in Designer?

Photoshop's "Warp Text" would be nice to be included in both apps, too.

Roadmap includes

-Mesh warp/distort tool

That should do it, but is it in version 1.7, 1.8 or 1.9 we do not know..

Yes, but I don't think that it will be the same as Shear tool. Mesh tool is free transform tool and this is transforming on a path.

“Mesh warp” suggests free transform, but I would expect “Distort” to give us distortion along a path.

BTW, you might want to correct the typo in the topic title. When I first saw this thread, I had no idea what “Share” filter referred to.

OK, shear means something else. It is available in Transform panel and it angles selection. That is not the tool you are requesting.

I do not quite follow what is "distortion along the path" but you could produce displayed effect using envelope or mesh distortion. I would think Affinity team is cooking something like that (but more clever).

Sorry this may not be relevant but why when i try to warp the pixels the mesh only seems to warp and the image does not change, only the gridlines?

Mesh Warp tool also converts vectors to pixels automatically.

It will be nice to work with vectors, too.
