email address used to create my sign on to Affinity forum

As you all know, it is necessary to input my email address in order to create a basic account in order to download the Affinity Photo software. For that I used my gmail address [which I use every day]. Having done that, I received and installed the current ver of Affinity Photo. That being done, I then wanted to establish being able to sign on to the Affinity forum. In order to do that, I had to input my email address.

Since I use my gmail address routinely, I attempted to sign on to the forum with my gmail address again. It was rejected since it is assigned to "another user". That other user is me!

 It seems preposterous that I would not be allowed to use my gmail address in these two places. That being the case, I was forced to use my other email address, which I rarely use. Nevertheless, I did that, and the registration for the forum went through OK.

I believe that the email address I use to get the software download should also be allowed to sign up for the forum.  What say you?

1. I strongly suggest that you change your forum user name to something other than one of (?) your email addresses ASAP to prevent spammers from harvesting it.

 

2. Your Affinity Store account & your Affinity forums accounts are not linked in any way.
