June-Etta Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 I just bought Affinity Photo through the Mac App Store; the message I saw said it had downloaded. Now, however, it is not in my download folder, not can I find it anywhere on my MacBook by searching. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Quote
Staff DWright Posted January 2, 2018 Staff Posted January 2, 2018 Hi June-Etta, Welcome to the forum When Affinity Photo is downloaded from the Mac Store it is automatically installed on your Mac and you can open the app from the Launchpad Quote
R C-R Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 Any of the following should work to find the app: • Click on the Spotlight magnifying glass icon in the upper-right corner of the menu bar & enter "Affinity" in its search field. • Enter "Affinity" in the search field at the top of any Finder window. • Check the Dock for new additions. By default most apps downloaded through the Mac App Store place an app icon on the Dock for quick access. • Right-click on a Finder window icon of any supported file type (like png, jpg, pdf, etc.) & choose Affinity Photo from the "Open with..." list that pops up. • As @Fixx suggested, open the root level Applications folder, sort by name if you want, & look for Affinity Photo there. • The LaunchPad method @DWright mentioned. If none of these work, launch the Mac App Store app & from the "Store" menu, select the "Check for Unfinished Downloads..." item. Alfred Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 Shouldn’t a check for unfinished downloads be the first step, rather than being kept in reserve in case the other methods don’t work? The OP said, "the message I saw said it had downloaded" so assuming that was accurate I mentioned the check as a last resort. Oh, OK. As you probably guessed, I missed that! June-Etta Posted January 2, 2018 Author Posted January 2, 2018 Thank you so much, everyone. As soon as I read DWright's reply, I found it, even though it hadn't shown up when I'd searched my computer for it. I appreciate all of you taking the time to offer me your help. Quote
