BofG
In Designer, I'm trying to set up a document with two pages for print, this is what I am doing.. File > New > [Type: Print, Size: A4, Create Artboard: Checked] Choose artboard tool, click "Insert Artboard" I now have two A4 pages in the document. On the first page, add text "P1", on the second page add text "P2". File > Print > [Range: document, uncheck auto rotate, set to portrait, fit type scale, 100%, ensure that printer is set to A4] > OK I only get one page out of the printer containing the second half of P1 and the first half of P2. The print preview in Designer shows this as the output, and indeed it does print like it. It doesn't matter what I try, different printers, drivers, duplex on or off, Designer will put every page (artboard) in the design document onto a single printed page. I would expect two sheets to come out (or one duplex if set). I'm on windows 10, Designer version 1.6.2.97 from the Windows Store. Am I just going about this the wrong way? I would assume that using an artboard per page is the correct approach, but maybe I'm missing something here? Thanks. Barry
carl123
Artboards are not regarded as separate pages when printing them. But you can print them individually as shown below Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. BofG
Thanks Carl, I did see that option, just was hoping there was a way to print the 'document'. I'm a very lazy individual If that's the only way to handle multiple pages, then proper duplex printing is definitely not possible, right? Apart from printing a batch of side one, reloading the paper and then printing side two. Barry
carl123
You could try exporting to PDF then by using a PDF reader application you should be able to specify what print options you want (including duplex) Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. BofG
The problem there is that I loose the controls of the colour profiles, maybe assigning the profile to the document carries over to Adobe Acrobat Reader, I'll have to try. Opening in Illustrator would work for sure, but that defeats the purpose of trying to switch to Designer. There's a lot to like about Designer and I don't want to be too down on it, but the printing output is maybe just a little too far behind the competition right now to be able to fully switch to it. I'm loosing the ability to control the lpi of the output, not able to print duplex or even run out a multi-page document without having to stay attached to the computer and click print for each page. It does seem that development is at a good pace though, so hopefully someday soon I'll be able to go 100% over to it. I'm keen to drop the CC $ubscription.
