Printing: selecting printer paper source

Recommended Posts

Hi,

my printer has two paper trays and a rear manual paper feeder to choose from.  I keep different size paper in each tray and use the rear feeder for heavier paper.  There doesn't seem to be a dialog in the Affinity Photo print procedure to allow me to select the paper source.  Is that really true?  and if so, isn't that a major flaw in the program.  Please tell me I missed something.  Do I need to print to a file and print to the printer from another program?  That seems wrong.

Thanks

Bob Solomon

In the File > Print screen next to your selected printer you should have a Properties button, try clicking that and selecting your paper source

There is no option there to select paper source as far as I can see...also doesn't seem to be a way set the print size to 5x7 even though that the image size.  This printing dialog is very primitive if you ask me.  I'm trying to escape Adobe's clutches but Lightroom is very powerful is this regard...

Thanks

Bob

Strange, on all my printers it allows me to select the paper source (if there is more than one)

What printer do you have?

Same here. It might help if you posted a screenshot of what happens when you select File > Print.

This topic has an "epson XP820" tag so presumably that is the printer Bob Solomon has. Perhaps a more relevant question is if he is using a Mac or a PC, since the print options may be different for each of them.

I do not have an Epson printer but for both my old Canon MP620 & my (greyscale only) Samsung laser printer, the paper source is selectable from the "Media & Quality" popup in the Print window in the Mac version of Affinity Photo:
