Retain aspect ratio of bitmap fills on new objects

On this topic, it seems the bitmap fill after applied works as it should with proportions correct, after that if I copy, save as a style or something else like this, the patterns gets distorted even after saving the style. I always have to manually adjust to have the correct proportion again. Is there a workaround? or is this a bug?

I believe this is working as designed, but it's just there is no way to maintain the size or ratio of the bitmap. So I've split this into feature requests.
