How does Publisher's persona feature work?

Recommended Posts

Great. Wonderful.

I suspect you'll have your demands met once those things actually work. If they are even there beyond what I saw on the YouTube version of the video.

BTW, whether some posters were serious or trying to manipulate Serif into posting "proof" that APub existed, there were some who expressed doubt about its existence. I believe that may in part be behind how Tony worded his post. I don't really care.

Fact is that other than maybe some neat ways the included functionality works, 1.x isn't gonna be all that. It is going to missing a whole helluva lot of features that a mature layout application has. and I hope serif doesn't throw in some "innovative" features (and really, what would those be anyway?) just to say we did it! They have to get the basics in there working properly before they go too hog-wild.

I'll leave this thread now. Have fun.

KipV, it's not my business, but to help avoid confusion, it's no different from when a new movie is announced. The teaser usually doesn't explain anything, but when the trailer comes out, more details are provided. The teaser's purpose is a buildup and to get people to guess what the movie might be about. If everything was mentioned from start, plans and viewer reactions would be spoiled. More will still be provided.

The website is still a work in progress. The "Comics" and "Shop" sections are not yet ready. Feel free to connect with me and let me know what you like or what can be improved. You can contact me here, on my contact page, YouTube channel, or Twitter account. Thanks and have a great day!

I really doubt there are people who didn't think this product existed and Serif was just lying to us.

There certainly have been posts expressing doubt that Publisher would ever be released, or for that matter that a beta ever would be.

I don't care about working vs. non working as much as I do about innovative vs rehashing old ground.

Really? I think the number one priority for almost anyone would be that things work, particularly the most common ones that any product of that type would be expected to include.

All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.1 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7
Affinity Photo
1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7

With a movie I tend to want to know as little as possible but just enough to know if I am interested in seeing it. At this point with Publisher I haven't seen anything much that would compel me to get it since I already have both ID and Quark that do the same things.

Like I have pointed out extensively in other threads I feel that the development priority should be given to Photo and especially Designer. If you take the innovative features from those products and couple them with many of the catch up features we saw yesterday you would have an amazing competitor. Both products are still pretty mediocre at doing basic layouts (meaning one or two pages not books.) To see my thoughts on that see the other posts I made about a year ago on this.

Since it has not yet even achieved the beta stage of development, much less the commercial release stage, I cannot imagine that Serif expects this sneak peak to compel anyone to buy the commercial version once it becomes available.

With the image selected, add a color like cyan to the frame itself. You won't notice any change. Open the Image editing palette. Select the drop down for the modes and use your keyboard to move from one to the other.

I still haven't been able to get this to work but it could very likely be user error.
