Importing Using A Scanner

It would be good if the programme would allow the user to import directly by using a scanner.

True, but there is an effective workaround in windows at least. Assuming your scanner saves as tiffs, then if you set Affinity Photo as the default program for tiffs, then the image file will open automatically in Affinity, whether Affinity is already open or not. The same is true if you save as jpeg.
