Mensch Mesch
In this short tutorial I'll will show you how to create an Affinity Designer template with nested symbols to draw snowflakes, ice crystals and other interesting things in all Affinity products. The content of this tutorial isn't new but I think at this time of year a nice idea to draw some nice snowflakes, ice crystals, stars... Have fun to draw your own... and keep on drawin' Norbert Gnobelix, v_kyr, Kiarian and 1 other 4 Quote Find me on YouTube | Mensch Mesch | MeWe | Twitter | Pinterest iMac27 5k 32 GB, MacBook Pro M1 | macOS 12.1 | iPad Pro2 | iOS 15.2 Affinity Designer 1.10.5 [macOS & iOS] | Affinity Photo 1.10.5 [macOS & iOS] | Affinity Publisher 1.10.

Hey @Kiarian, thanks for you comment. Symbols are really very useful and offers a lot of possibilities in your drawings and design. I've created some other tutorials where I demonstrate the use of symbols. You'll find them on my YT channel. I'm still trying to work out exactly how Symbols work, and why when I draw on the layer on the tutorial, that it's mirrored across all the other symbols. Is a symbol an 'instance' of a path? Aammppaa
Symbols are containers (like a special type of group) Symbols are instances of anything that is inside them. Individual symbols / instances can be de-synced so that some attributes are unique to that instance.
