Nemesis Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 I'm a rookie, so I have no clue how to do this... Anyway, I would like to know how I can cut out a rectangle shaped area of a photo, and past that part in a new document? (I have both Affinity Designer & Photo) Quote 'One Aim'
Alfred Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 You can use either the Crop Tool or the Rectangle Tool. If using the Crop Tool, rasterize the layer after cropping so that the unwanted portion is properly discarded (because the tool is non-destructive). If using the Rectangle Tool, select both the rectangle layer and the photo layer and then click on the 'Intersect' icon in the Geometry section of the main toolbar. toltec Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 I would just select a rectangle with the marquee tool Press Ctrl + C to Copy Press Ctrl + V to Paste it in the new document. Make sure the image you copy from is a Pixel layer, not an Image layer or it won't work. If it is an Image layer, rasterise it first. Rick G 1 Quote Windows PCs. Nah. That's too easy! Rick G 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)
