DAD Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 I got this question from Germany: "What I have a lot of trouble with are the vector brushes. Let's say I drew something using a brush, left the file for two weeks, and now I want to continue working on it or start a new drawing in the same look, that is, with the same brush. Then I'm somehow unable to figure out which brush I've actually used. In my brush panel, the one that I've used last, regardless of which file I use, is emphasized, which in any case leads to considerable confusion (unlike ai: I'll click the corresponding line in the document, and that for that one Line used brush is colored, so perfectly traceable even with multiple brushes in a document). No matter if I click on the curve in the layer panel or on the top of the context bar: I get into the menu to edit the brush, but nowhere stands, as the brush is called and from which category it comes. That's impossible?" I didn´t recognize this problem, but it is true. I can´t understand after a long time, which brush was used. It would be lovely if you can fix this Best Greetings Anke Quote
Staff MEB Posted November 27, 2017 Staff Posted November 27, 2017 Hi DAD, Yes, currently Affinity doesn't highlight the brush used but there's a way to work around it: to pick the previous (original) brush used to draw a stroke select an object on canvas that uses it then go to menu Edit ▸ Synchronize defaults from selection. The next stroke/line you draw will use the same brush as the one that was selected. DAD 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
DAD Posted November 28, 2017 Author Posted November 28, 2017 Thank you for your answer. But it is not really user-friendly. What if you have a lot of brushes you need to click on and do this process all the times again and again. This is not a smooth workflow Quote
Staff MEB Posted November 28, 2017 Staff Posted November 28, 2017 Hi DAD, Yes, i agree with you. I didn't intend to suggest that as a solution but as a workaround to eventually help keep you going with your project. If you have used a lot of different brushes it's certainly not a workable suggestion. I was just trying to help. This issue was already brought up before and i believe it's already logged to be looked at. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
