Guides are activated but when I pull one in from the ruler I can't it on a white background.

It is very thin and it shows up on my orange background.

Any way of changing guide color ?

Yes. Show guides is checked.

For some reason it now works.

Sometimes it does and then it doesn't

I'll trash preferences and see if it fixes it.

Thank you.

Found that in Affinity Designer but it could also work in Photo:

I've got the same problem and I do not want to restart my Mac because of all the Daemon running on it. But I found a simple solution:

Under → View → Configure Guides (I am working with german UI) I created a new horizontal guide (position 1px) and then I deleted this guide immediately.

After this procedure Affinity Designer showed the guides again.

This modal windows is also a good control instrument.

Hope this helps
